Q How do I register if I am an active member of the pension scheme?
A

To register for the portal, you’ll need:

  • a registration code; and
  • a personal identification code (Member Number).

Your employer can provide your registration code. You can find your personal identification code (Member Number) in the top right-hand corner of your Annual Benefit Statement cover letter (entitled Our ref).

Once you have your codes, select 'Login' to register and create your secure account.

Q How do I register if I am a pensioner member of the pension scheme?
A

To register you’ll need:

  • a registration code; and
  • a personal identification code (Member Number).

You can find your registration code and personal identification code (Member Number) in the top right-hand corner of your Pensioner Newsletter cover letter (entitled Our ref).

Once you have your codes, select 'Login' to register and create your secure account.

Q What if I haven't received a registration and personal identification code to enable me to register?
A

Active Members

If you haven't received your registration code please contact your employer.

If you haven’t received your personal identification code (Member Number) you can find it here:

  • in the top right-hand corner of the covering letter of your most recent Annual Benefit Statement.

 

Active Pensioner/ Pensioner

If you haven't received your registration code this can be found in your Pensioner Newsletter.

If you haven’t received your personal identification code (PID) (Member Number) you can find it here:

  • On a payslip or P60 you have received regarding your pension.
  • in the top right-hand corner of your Pensioner Newsletter cover letter (entitled Our ref).

 

Q What should I do if I don’t know my personal identification code (PID)?
A

Please review the registration information and how to register video available on the Portal home page.

Q What should I do if I do not receive a verification email?
A

Portal emails come from mssmail@mycsp.co.uk. Please check your junk mail and if necessary allow sender or mark as not junk. If you’re using a work email address instead of a personal email address, please ensure it’s not GSI. These have now been replaced by the government with gov.uk.

If you haven’t received the verification email, this can be requested by clicking the banner at the top of this page to request it is sent again.

You’ll still be able to access the portal without the verification email, but you will not be able to make any changes to any information until we have verified your email.

Q What if I have a problem registering for the portal?
A

If you have a problem when registering, please watch our bite-sized video on how to register on how to register for further help.

If you are still having problem, please contact us and provide your member number and 2 further pieces of security information, together with the date and time you tried to access the portal, and, if possible, share screen shots of any error messages.

Q What should I do if I have a technical issue or problem when trying to access the portal?

Q What should I do if I've forgotten my password?
A

Click on the Forgotten Password link on the 'Login' page and follow the instructions.

Once your identity has been confirmed you'll be able to set a new password.

Your email must be verified to use the forgotten password link.

Q What should I do if I've forgotten my username?
A

Click on the Forgotten Username link on the 'Login' page and follow the instructions.

Your email must be verified to use the forgotten username link.

Q Can I register if I have a deferred Civil Service Pension?
A

No. The Portal is currently only available for active and pensioner members. You can find information about your deferred pension on the Civil Service Pension website.

Q Can I register if I have a partnership pension account?
A

No. The Portal is only available for active and pensioner members of the Civil Service Pension Scheme. You can find information about your partnership pension account on the Civil Service Pension website.

Q My Pension is due to go into payment soon, when can I check my payslips online?
A

Active member to pensioner

You can register for the portal at any time however you won’t be able to view your payslips until you have received your first pension payment.

 

Deferred member to pensioner

Once you have received your first pension payment you can register for the portal and view your payslips online.

 

Q What details can be changed on the Portal?
A

Currently, you can update your address details and the death beneficiary in the portal.

Q What is a personal identification code (PID)?
A

A personal identification code (PID) Is your pension member number. This can also be found under Our Ref in your annual benefit statement.

Q Why isn’t my email accepted when I try to register?
A

The email you are trying to register with is ineligible, please try a new email address such as one ending in .gov, .com or .co.uk to resolve the registration problem.
